You may not
be aware that Tim is a mountaineering
instructor as well as being
a two times Everest summiteer.
Not only does Tim run climbing
courses in Borrowdale,
and throughout the rest of
The Lakes, but he also gives
slide shows about his trips
away.
In 2005 Tim
and seven friends embarked
on the biggest trip of their
lives - this was not a commercial
trip but, as they called it, "a
bunch of blokes on a BIG mountain." 3
of the team and 4 climbing
Sherpas summited Everest and,
chillingly, 1 of the team collapsed
on the way down from the summit
and nearly died. Tim went on
to summit Everest again in
2011 with 4 clients - this
time from the South (Nepal)
side. He's going back to Everest
in 2013 as well.
Hear their story and see rare 360 degree panorama video footage from the summit in your own personal slide show and have the chance to ask questions along the way. Gripping stuff. This generally needs to be arranged in advance and there is a one off surcharge of £75.

If you fancy a liesurely stroll along Hadrian's Wall whilst learning about Roman history, or if you would like to have a guided walk in the northern Lakeland Fells, then make a booking with our friend Pete Royle at Wandering Aengus Treks.
Pete's background is originally trekking and expeditions, a field that he worked in for over 20 years. Having now settled in The Lakes Pete runs his own business taking people out on informative (and enjoyable!) walks. This definitely needs booking in advance to make sure that Pete is available. You can either contact Pete directly or (preferred) book through us. This is not for commission but it just means that if other guests enquire then we know what folk are doing and whether there is the possibility for people to join up together. We will be putting together a range of walks and tours to suit all needs and abilities. Watch this space.
